Renewable Energy vs resource drain

POPULATION, POLLUTION, POWER AND PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS

Since the end of the Black Death, (around 1350,) the world’s human population has been steadily growing. Around the beginning of the 1900s, with the introduction of new technologies that improved agricultural productivity, medicine and sanitation, the reduction in mortality added to the population weight that came with more people having more kids. Though growth has declined from its 1963 peak of 2.2% the world population is not projected to peak overall until the middle of this century, before declining around 2100.

With such high populations comes a strain on shared resources. Food, land, water, electricity etc.

Not only are we putting a strain on resources but as a consequence of using more resources, we are producing more waste, adding to the release of more carbon emissions into the atmosphere and significantly increasing pollution.

Many industries are realising their role in negatively impacting the environment and from fashion to farming we are seeing sustainable innovations on the rise.

What about our personal responsibilities? How do we improve the global standard of living while reducing the impact that we humans are having on the environment?

There is no one answer as there are many things that we can do however, pertinent to this website, something that we earthlings can do immediately is personally invest in renewable energy.

solar

wind

geothermal

hydropower

ocean energy

These renewable investments can be worked into our everyday lives.

Solar is one of the renewable sources that can be utilised by individuals and families.

Solar panels are becoming more commonly sighted for good reason. They are a solid investment and long-term money saver.

Many solar panel owners are cottoning on to the value of completing the solar investment with solar batteries that can store collected energy for use when the sun goes down, the power goes out and when extra energy pulling tools are being used. When solar battery systems (such as Tesla Powerwall, Sonnen, Soltaro or Windac,) are teamed up with a home’s solar panel system, they create a money saving, planet saving force of nature (literally,) with resonating benefits.
